“Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding” (Psalm 47:6-7).
“So Bill, let me ask you, are you going to church tomorrow?” Todd asked his friend who met him at Subway for lunch. “The reason I am asking is that if you are going, I think I am ready to go with you.” Bill finished the bite of his tuna sub and said, “I am indeed, and I would be so grateful to have you join me. I’ve been asking you to come for over a year now. You would be so welcome to join our family. But I am curious as to why you are now ready to come when you always turned me down!” a rather surprised Bill asked his friend. “It’s because, well, it’s because, well, let me say it. I know how big your trials and heartaches are and yet as we were working this morning in that crawl space, you were singing to the Lord words about how great He is and how you trust Him. I’ve decided that what you’ve got is what I need. Thanks for letting me come.” It was a great conversation in the work truck as they headed back to the job. Think of this dear friend. What will happen if you sing praises to the Lord?
For today: He is worthy of our praise, devotion, and worship. Sing to Him today.
