“For the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein” (Hosea 14:9).
Life sometimes can be very confusing. There are times that even though we are reading God’s Word regularly, investing time with Him consistently, seeking to love Him more intimately, and desiring to live victoriously, life can still be very confusing at times. It reminds me of a very tender scene in my office. They sat in my presence and tears filled both of their eyes. “I thought I knew about the Lord. I thought He was a loving God. If He is such a loving God, why did He let my child die?” the man asked as he choked through his bitterness. No one can begin to imagine the pain that comes through the death of a child. No trite clichés will work. There are dozens of situations that are very hard to understand. Let’s think more about this tomorrow. For today, what are you facing that is hard to understand? I have found great blessing in coming to the conviction, that the Lord’s ways are right. His ways are not always easy. However, He makes no mistakes. I must trust Him.
For today: Rather than asking Him, “Why?” I need to be asking Him, “What do you want me to learn and do, and how can I glorify you in this time?”
