“LORD, Thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations. Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever Thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, Thou art God” (Psalm 90:1, 2)
On the worst of days God, as always, remains faithful. Psalm 90 is ascribed to Moses and referred to as his prayer. Moses looked at the mountains and considered them to be a great teacher. When he faced severe problems, he knew that he belonged to and trusted in the God Who existed from eternity past, long before He created that mountain! Pastor Kenward’s grandmother was from a place that was surrounded by mountains. When she moved with her family to the part of the country that was very flat, she often spoke to Pastor Kenward when he was a youngster of those mountains back home. What wonderful memories he had of being reminded by his grandmother that “Before those mountains were formed, God is the everlasting God!” Friends, you don’t need mountains nearby to remember Who God is, what He is doing and how He can be trusted.
For today: What wonderful blessings come when one belongs to the Lord and takes a good lesson from the mountains!
