“Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us” (Matthew 1:22-23).
“It is nothing short of a miracle,” Lannae said to the lady seated beside her. Riding the Greyhound bus for the last several hours, both ladies were returning to their destination following Christmas vacation. Though they had never met before, very quickly they struck up an enjoyable conversation about their time away and the celebrations over the past several days. “For me, it is all about my Savior and the absolute miracle of miracles that took place when He became man. To avoid being born a sinner, hundreds of years before His birth, Isaiah prophesied of this miracle called the virgin birth,” Lannae said. “I’m interested in learning more about it,” Ruth said with a seriousness in her voice. “Great!” Lannae responded. “We have another three hours, and I have a small Bible in my carry on. Let me show you!” And so began a wonderful Bible study aboard the nearly fully loaded Greyhound bus rolling along the interstate.
For today: Does the miracle of the Incarnation cause you to rejoice? It should!
