“For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord” (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
What a wonderful and glorious expectation that the believer has to greet each day as he or she rises from bed! What a wonderful and glorious expectation that the believer has to conclude each day as he or she lies down to go to sleep! This glorious expectation is that maybe today or maybe tonight the Lord will come for His people and we will meet Him in the air. That is by far the most glorious and grandest expectation that can ever be experienced. But just on a personal note, may I also call your attention to another little phrase? It is “caught up together with them” (1 Thessalonians 4:17). This little phrase has become even more special to me as my Karen went Home to be with the Lord on April 4th. Today would have been our forty-sixth wedding anniversary. Here is my comfort: I know where she is. I know how she is. I know with Whom she is. Today might be the day that the Lord comes in the air and the dead in Christ rise first, and then we which are alive and remain will be “caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air.” Do you have that joy and confidence? If not, would you take a moment to go to my website www.michaelpeck.org and click Heaven. I want you to know Christ as your Savior.
For today: Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
