“Then on that day David delivered first this psalm to thank the Lord into the hand of Asaph and his brethren. Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon His name, make known His deeds among the people. Sing unto Him, sing psalms unto Him, talk ye of all his wondrous works” (1 Chronicles 16:7-8).
The ark of the covenant was being placed in the tent that King David pitched for it. What a grand day it was in the kingdom for every man and woman! David provided food for everyone and then led the people in worship. The Psalm quoted is Psalm 105. It provided a wonderful reminder for the people of the Lord regardless of the age and circumstances of life. David commanded the people to “make known His deeds among the people.” Some believers grumble. Some believers fret. Some believers gossip. Thank the Lord, however, some believers, while being honest about their problems, still share with those around them how good the Lord is. Steve was a lot like that. On the days that he was driving deliveries, several of the assistants fought over who got to work with him. They loved his attitude and were encouraged when they got to spend time with him. I wonder if anyone would enjoy working with us because we are encouraging and thankful for the Lord’s wonderful works?
For today: I want to ask the Lord to help me follow David’s very good command to “make known His deeds.”
