“For He has made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21).
I love words. I am a man of many words. My family, friends, and I laugh at my many, many words. But I am at a total loss. How can anyone adequately describe that incredible event when the sinless, spotless Son of God took upon Himself our horrible, wretched sin and shame? Think of the phrase, “Who knew no sin.” The Lord Jesus had no acquaintance with sinful thoughts, motives, actions, or words. Every single thought was purely holy. Every action was purely holy. Every motive was, yes, you have guessed it already, purely holy. That’s what uniquely qualified Him to be our Savior. I think it will be good for us to be overwhelmed with the magnitude of His sacrifice. Let this fill you with joy, peace, and appreciation today. It will me!
For today: How blessed we are, dear friends. How blessed.
