“That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing” (Colossians 1:10).
I can remember seeing my children lining up at the front door of our home to head off to school. After we prayed with our kids, Karen would often quietly remind them, “Remember Who you belong to. It matters how you act today.” The rules were not harsh. The goals were not heavy and hard to reach. Mom and Dad wanted their children simply to remember that belonging to the Lord Jesus is a privilege and should affect the way that they act and think. Think of this. My conduct ought to quietly and sweetly remind people that Someone much more important than myself is in charge of my life. What a powerful testimony our changed behavior will be. Why, when we start living for the Lord and pleasing Him, we just might have people asking, “What’s with you anyhow? I’ve never met anyone like you!”
For today: May my sincere belief produce my sweet behavior!
