“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it” (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Think of it. “God is faithful Who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able.” When folks looked at Hank’s life, they thought about a man who loved his God, his family, and his church. What a precious man indeed. Newcomers to the church would think that Hank never had a problem or care in the world. It was only as they heard about Hank’s life from others that they discovered that he had suffered from chronic pain, sorrows from the tragic death of his wife, and severe disappointments that were not his fault. One of the newcomers shook Hank’s hand one Sunday after church. After a little light conversation, the newcomer said, “Hank, I’ve heard about some of your situations. May I ask what has kept you from becoming bitter and angry?” In that moment Hank turned to the newcomer and quietly said, “When compared to what my Savior experienced for me, my troubles are small. But in those small troubles, my God is faithful, so faithful. I don’t know if this is good theology or not, but I love it. I would honestly say to you that He knows the load. He knows my limit. So He limits the load!”
For today: I am so glad that He is faithful. How about you?
