“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them” (Proverbs 4:20-22).
Chad stepped into the living room of his mom and dad. He had come home for a long weekend from the college he attended. Some of his “old” friends from high school were getting together for pizza and to “hang out.” Before he left, Chad’s dad said, “Son, your mom and I want you to have a good time. Just remember what you know to be true and live it. We both love you very much and are glad that you are not only our son, you also belong to the Lord.” Chad waved good-bye and was somewhat resentful. After all he was an all grown-up sophomore in pre-med. He really didn’t need that reminder. Off he went that night. And by the way, oh yes, he did need that reminder. I’ll tell you more about it tomorrow.
For today: We all need to be attentive to the Word of God, and we parents need to be sharing it with our families.
