“But rejoice, inasmuch as you are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when His glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding joy” (1 Peter 4:13).
Life isn’t fair all the time, is it? In fact, life is often unfair because we live in a fallen, sin cursed world. Some of the unfair things are small and rather insignificant. Other times the injustices of life are costly and big. Micah sat at the table and with tears in his eyes spoke to his son and daughter-in-law. “Throughout the years of dealing with people, I never have had someone intentionally cheat me out of thousands of dollars. I can stand the loss of money better than I can knowing that someone I trusted would deliberately cheat me and be dishonest. I am shaken and can’t seem to get over it.” Wisely the couple listened to their elderly dad and gave him time to finish his story. His son Jeremiah spoke quietly and deliberately. Inside he was furious that his dad would be treated in this manner. “Dad, you have been wronged and I cannot advise you on the legal steps you will have to take. But I can tell you that the day is coming when the Lord Himself will make this right. Currently you are a partaker of Christ’s sufferings. The day is coming when you see that the Lord will bless you because of this.” It was just what Micah needed to hear.
For today: How about you? How does this affect you today?
