“But speaking the truth in love” (Ephesians 4:15).
In a recent time of family devotions, Dad challenged his two teenagers to be a little bolder at school. “Listen, kids. I know that there is pressure on you even though you are around other Christians at your public school. I know it must be hard. But when other kids, whether they are Christians or unbelievers, say and do things that you know are wrong, when you are quiet and don’t say anything, well, it looks like you are in agreement with them. You are just going to need to ask the Lord to give you wisdom, grace, and courage,” their dad said. It was quiet for a moment, and then Nate with great quietness and respect said, “Is that what you do at work, Dad?” It was quiet for a longer moment. “No, Nate. Not always. But it is going to be,” a very challenged but blessed Dad answered.
For today: Where will you need to speak the truth in love today?
