“Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ” (Ephesians 3:8).
I’ve not yet met him, but I love him! Of course you know that I am speaking of the Apostle Paul. Of all the writers that God used in the composing of His Book, isn’t Paul amazing? I love his power, boldness, willingness to serve, tireless energy in traveling and planting churches, and then to add to all of these, his genuine, honest humility. There are those folks who are humble and want to be complimented for it. Then there are people like the Apostle Paul. He could have been the proudest human being in history following the ascension of Christ. But he wasn’t. He called himself “less than the least of the saints.” What a lesson for us today.
For today: The more we think about the Lord Jesus Christ, the more we really see ourselves. The more we see ourselves, the more genuinely humble we will be.
