“My times are in Thy hand” (Psalm 31:15).
“So Hank, let me ask you. Are you getting excited about your retirement? How much longer until you retire and what are you going to do?” Sam asked his longtime friend. These men were eating breakfast together at the corner diner just as they did every Tuesday morning before work. Hank put his coffee down and said to his friend, “Am I excited? Naw! I wouldn’t say excited. I have 115 days, 9 hours, and….” glancing down at his watch, “let’s say 55 seconds! Of course I am excited about my retirement. As for what I am going to do, let me say this. I want to serve the Lord, encourage my pastor, visit my family, and trust the Lord to help me to live each day as He would have me live. My times are in God’s hands, and I am going to trust Him.” Sounds like good advice for us as well, doesn’t it?
For today: In the hand of God is the best place for our times to be!
