“And it came to pass, when the time was come that He should be received up, He stedfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem” (Luke 9:51).
The Lord Jesus began the route to Jerusalem where He would be the perfect substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of world (John 1:29). “He stedfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem” is a somber reminder of the incredible price that He would pay to be our blessed Redeemer. His death was not accidental. It was not an unfortunate tragic turn of events. He had a grand and glorious purpose to which He now set His face as He started the journey to Jerusalem.
So, what are you facing today? Is there a hardship of some kind in your life right at this moment? Oh, how the Lord Jesus understands difficult situations. Think of what He faced! Understand the precious help that He offers because He truly has experienced the painfulness of difficult days. What a precious Savior to Whom we belong.
Think about this for a moment: People may say to you, “I know just how you feel.” Probably they don’t, but the Lord Jesus does understand, and He wants to help you today. Ask Him.
