“The LORD is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows them that trust in Him” (Nahum 1:7).
I left you with Jessica sobbing yesterday. (If you missed the last several days of Daily Prescriptions, get caught up by going to www.michaelpeck.org and on the homepage scroll down for recent posts.) She was apologizing for being so misunderstanding of Kirsten. Jessica had accused her of praising the Lord because everything was so wonderful for her. Little did Jessica know that Kirsten had cancer, serious cancer, and yet she still praised the Lord.
As the two girls embraced, Kirsten whispered to Jessica, “I am very sincere about what I am going to tell you. Of course I am scared. But Jess, I want you to know that He is God. He is good. He is good all the time. He is worthy of my praise not only in the good times but also in the bad.”
When you think about it, friends, it is easy to praise the Lord when life is easy. But when life becomes very difficult, it is then that praising the Lord becomes even more blessed. While we are honest about our feelings and truthful about our circumstances, we are sincere with our praises.
As you are on your way, may I ask: Are you praising the Lord today? He is God, and He is good all the time.
