“Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people His doings” (Psalm 9:11).
On that prayer meeting night, Samuel’s few words that he choked out made such an impact. Sam was new to the local church. The pastor had the joy of leading him to Christ. Several other men were helping him to grow in his walk with the Lord and understand the joy of becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ. Sam started coming to the prayer service. He still wasn’t comfortable praying out loud, but he loved to pray quietly along with the others. When Pastor Kenward asked if there were any testimonies of praises that night, Sam stood before he even thought things through. “Sam!” the Pastor said. “What would you like to share this evening?” Instantly Sam tensed up. He didn’t think he could say anything, but he managed to say, “It wasn’t long ago that I didn’t know the Lord. Now I know the Lord Jesus and love Him. I want to praise Him for the way that He is working in my life. He’s doing great things, and now I have to sit down before I faint.” Everyone chuckled, especially Sam, as he waved to the pastor. It was a great night in prayer meeting that night.
For today: What is the Lord doing in your life? Are you telling anyone about it?
