Yesterday I shared with you the life-changing transformation that takes place in the hearts and lives of people who respond to God’s Word in faith and place their trust in the Lord Jesus for salvation. God’s Word is powerful and accomplishes His purposes (Isaiah 55:11). Even children can learn and know God’s Word (2 Timothy 3:15).
Now today, let me ask you a question. Are you ready? Here it is. What if your Bible could suddenly speak aloud? What would it say about you? I hope your Bible would be able to say the following things which we will look at over the next few days. Come with me to the first thing our Bibles should be able to say about us.
1. My owner looks at me regularly during the week.
“Open Thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of Thy law” (Psalm 119:18). Isaiah provides the following great counsel by saying, “Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read” (34:16). The Scriptures are spiritual food for us. Your pastor’s message on Sunday is not enough to feed you all week long. My Daily Prescriptions are like spiritual vitamins. They are not sufficient for your spiritual diet. If you do not have a regular reading plan, I would suggest reading the Gospel of John. Start at the beginning and read at least a few verses each day. More about your talking Bible tomorrow, my friends.
For today: A Bible that is falling apart usually is owned by someone who is not.
