“When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh forward” (perverse) “things; Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness” (Proverbs 2:10-13).
It would be the first time that Mackenzie would be coaxed and pressured to go out drinking with her colleagues at work. Growing up in a strong Christian home and attending business school in her community contributed to her living a rather sheltered life. But here she was today working in an accounting firm that was located three hours from her hometown. At times she was lonely in her little apartment, and here was an invitation to go with friends from work to do something fun. She very wisely knew that this was not the kind of fun that would honor the Lord. God had very special plans for her, and He does for you as well. As you read the Word and grow close to Him, His wisdom will flood your life with discretion and understanding that will keep you from unnecessary hurts and problems.
For today: It will always be right to stop, think, and act wisely.
