“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation” (Isaiah 12:2).
“Well, Carol, it is time for me to report to jury duty,” Pastor Kenward told his secretary. “It’s strange. I’ve never been called for jury duty. Even though it is just our town court, I am somewhat nervous,” he shared with her. With that he was off. As he drove down Front Street to the town court building, Pastor Kenward reminded himself of the counsel he always shared with others. “God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid.” Sure enough, he was the first called and the first dismissed! Returning rather quickly to the office, his secretary was surprised to see him. Laughing he said, “The defense didn’t want someone who didn’t drink and who was friend to every police officer in the city of Binghamton!” As he returned to his desk, the pastor smiled and thanked the Lord that He could be trusted.
For today: It might not be jury duty, but what are you facing today that requires you to trust the Lord?
