“And I fell unto the ground and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And I answered, Who art Thou, Lord? And I said, “What shall I do, Lord?” (Acts 22:7-10).
Paul is giving testimony of his conversion. As he stormed along the road to Damascus, he was filled with such a hatred for the followers of the Lord Jesus. Then the Lord Jesus stopped him in his tracks. Saul fell to the ground and asked two questions. First, “Who are you, Lord?” This is the basic question that Saul needed to settle in his mind. The second question logically follows as the first question is settled. That second question is “What shall I do, Lord?” When one settles in his or her heart that the Lord Jesus is just as He claims to be, then logically he or she asks, “What do you want me to do?” What a dynamic change the Lord wrought in the man that many must have thought as the most unlikely convert of the day. How does this impact your life today? More on this tomorrow.
For today: As the old hymn puts it, “What a wonderful change in my heart has been wrought, since Jesus came into my heart.”
