“I have yet many things to say unto you, but you cannot bear them now. Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come. He shall glorify me…” (John 16: 12-14).

“What confusing times in which we live,” Maggie said to her friend. “I just wish that the Lord would write out on my driveway what He wants me to do. I know I am willing to do what He wants. I just don’t know what it is,” she continued. It was quiet for a few moments until Maggie’s friend, Kimberly, reached into her purse and pulled out her New Testament. Quietly she read our text today and said, “It’s interesting what you said about the Lord writing on your driveway. A few months ago I remember our pastor speaking about a confusing time in his life. He told us one night that he said to the Lord, ‘It would be so much easier if You just wrote out on the wall where You want us to serve!’ He then went on to explain that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to lead believers in the truth of God’s Word where He clearly gives us direction for living in such a way that the Lord can orchestrate His plan for us.” It was a special time over the next few months to see how the Lord directed Maggie’s life. How about you? Do you find yourself in confusing times? If you know Christ, the Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth as you invest time in His Word and with Him.

For today: No matter how confusing your circumstances might seem, you are never abandoned and beyond His wonderful, guiding care.
