“He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength” (Isaiah 40:29).
“I don’t think I can face this,” she said to her pastor. “You know what my life has been like and the very difficult things that have happened to me. I am a strong person, and I’ve been able to handle all my problems by myself. But I can’t take it anymore. What am I going to do?” she asked as the hot tears streamed down her cheeks. The kind and gentle pastor spoke in such a way as to paint a beautiful picture of words on a canvas. “You’ve struggled under the weight of heavy burdens that the Lord doesn’t want you to carry alone. You’ve struggled, and you’ve buckled. You’ve made it this far, but all along the Lord wanted to carry these for you. Now the latest situation has come and you are right, Janice. You can’t carry this. The Lord Jesus wants to be real to you, so real you will listen to His promise about giving power to those who feel like they are going to faint.” What a precious starting point for Janice that day. How is it with you? It could very well be that you are in a situation right now that is too heavy for you. Give it to the Lord. He gives strength and power to those who have heavy burdens.
For today: Just when you feel like the situation is impossible, focus on the Lord Jesus. He specializes in things thought impossible.
