Yesterday we thought of Isaiah, 700 years before the birth of our Savior, prophesying about the miracle of the virgin birth. This was Isaiah 7:14. Let’s turn over several pages in our Bibles to Isaiah 9. I don’t know about you, but this is one of my favorite passages in the Old Testament. For just a moment think of this.
“The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined” (Isaiah 9:2).
Awesome in every sense of the word! Seven hundred years later the Son of the Highest would be born and in His ministry as the Messiah, our Savior said,
“I am the light of the world: he that follows Me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life” (John 8:12).
I might not understand what certain situations have happened.
I might not understand what the Lord is doing in my life at this exact moment.
I might not understand many things.
However, this I know for sure. The Lord Jesus is my Savior, and I have placed my trust 100% in Him. He is the light of the world and the One in Whom I rest completely. I am so thankful for the true meaning of Christmas. How about you?
