“For our light affliction which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory: while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:17-18).
“Where were you ever looking, Honey?” Stephen’s frazzled and shaking mother asked as they sat at the stop sign. “Did you even see it?” she continued. Had she not said, “Stop sign…STOP SIGN. STEPHEN! STOP STOP!”, they would have bolted into oncoming traffic. Her seventeen-year-old son admitted that he had been looking at the end of the hood and thinking about something other than his driving. What a dangerous combination nearly caused a terrible crash. It makes me think about the focus of my life. I must not live in denial of my present situation, but it must not be my permanent focus. You and I need to keep looking ahead to eternity. More about this tomorrow!
For today: What a great future the Lord has planned for His people and Himself. How blessed we are.
