“Though the LORD be high, yet hath He respect unto the lowly: but the proud He knoweth afar off” (Psalm 138:6).
It seems like the subject of humility has come up several times lately in our Daily Prescriptions. I really am not on a crusade. It is just how the Lord has been leading in our Scripture readings. Perhaps it is this reminder that we need from time-to-time that God is much closer in fellowship with the person who is humble than with the person who is proud. Stan was a marvelous speaker. People looked forward to hearing him. In fact, he was such a good speaker that if he were holding a conference in town, people from surrounding churches came to sit under his ministry. The thing about Stan that made him such a blessing was that he thought highly, highly of the Lord and lowly, lowly of himself. His messages were powerful as he proclaimed the truth about the Lord. I want my life to be as radiant, powerful, and Christ-focused. How about you? People may not come from miles around to be under our ministry; however, people around us can be blessed as we live humbly and honor the Lord.
For today: May Christ be seen in our lives. May our lives be like a spotlight that shines the attention and glory back to the Lord.
