“My times are in Thy hand” (Psalm 31:15).
Caleb had been pulled from the wreckage of his mangled car by the local volunteer fire department. Most of the crew on board County 9-5-1 knew Caleb and though he lapsed in and out of consciousness, he managed to speak to those who were working on him as they were rushing to the hospital. “Thank you for taking care of me. But I want you to know that my life is in the Lord’s hands. I belong to Him,” Caleb said. “Caleb, it’s Hank. Right now you need to save your breath. We know how important God is to you. You’ve only told us a hundred times. That’s what makes you a special guy,” Hank said. Forty-five minutes later as the crew pulled away from the hospital, one of them said, “Even in a life and death situation, he wanted us to know about his Lord. Guess it’s about time I take him seriously.”
For today: Your testimony when times are great is a wonderful blessing, but your testimony when times are terrible is really powerful. How will this play out in your life today? (Yes, Caleb fully recovered.)
