“And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for Thou was slain and hast redeemed us to God by Thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people and nation” (Revelation 5:9).
Some who read my Dr. Mike’s Daily Prescriptions may not be aware, but I am a “retired” missionary with Baptist Church Planters. I say “retired” because I still keep a pretty full schedule or preaching, writing, and assisting pastors with their counseling situations. I want you to think with me about what one of our dear BCP missionaries emphatically said to several of us many years ago. Dr. John Williams said, “I think it is wrong to speak of ‘races’ when it comes to people. I believe that there is only ONE race, the human race. Within that ONE race, there are various ethnicities. The Bible tells us that Heaven will be made of believers from every kindred, tongue, people, and nation. One race with many ethnicities.” I’ve never forgotten that statement. I believe he is correct. I am so glad that Heaven will be so glorious.
For today: I want to look past the color of skin and thank the Lord that we are one in Christ from every kindred, tongue, people, and nation!
