“As ye have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him: rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving” (Colossians 2:6-7).
“Well Dad, today was really something,” Joseph said as he climbed up into his dad’s truck. “I think it was meant to be an insult. But I turned the tables on them and said, ‘Thank you, guys. You may not know it, but you couldn’t have said anything better to me,’” Joseph said. Obviously Dad was very concerned and wanted to know what had happened in school that day. “Well, it wasn’t all that big a deal. But three of the eleventh graders ordered five or six of the seventh graders to turn over their lunch money or they would beat them up. I kind of stepped between them and told them to back off. They did, but as they were walking away, one of them called me ‘Mr. Sunday School Jesus Follower,’ and I called after them thanking them for the compliment.” Dad shared with his boy how proud he was of him and told him, “Find my New Testament in the glovebox. Read Colossians 2:6-7 and Joe, that’s just what you did today.”
For today: How will this glorious truth play out in your life today?
