“The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple” (Psalm 19:7).

Sarianne got off the school bus and marched almost triumphantly up her driveway. Bless her heart. Sarianne was labeled “Special Needs,” and truly she did have physical needs as well as learning disabilities. Mom was waiting in the driveway for her that day and immediately saw that something was up. “How are you, Honey?” Mom asked. “Mad,” was all that Sarianne said. “What’s up?” Mom prodded. “My teacher tried to tell everyone about evolution, and I stopped her. When everything was quiet I said that the Bible says God made us,” Sarianne said with authority and conviction!  Needless to say, that were something that Sarianne and her parents needed to work out at school, (in fact the teacher called about fifteen minutes later!) But in a very true sense, Sarianne was wiser that day than many educators. God indeed did make us according to His testimonies and she believed it!

For today: We need to be wise and tactful in our stand. But may we have the courage and conviction of “Special Needs” Sarianne.
