“Our beloved Barnabas and Paul, men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 15:25-26).
What a testimony Barnabas and Paul have even to us today. These men didn’t serve the Lord if it was convenient for them. They didn’t serve the Lord when it worked well and easily into their schedule. They had the testimony of serving the Lord in the midst of danger and hardship. What a vivid reminder for me today. The ancient hymn is still so good as the lyrics read, “Must I be carried to the skies on flowery beds of ease, while others fought to win the prize and sailed through bloody seas?” I wonder what people will say of me in the future?
For today: Thank You for the example of Barnabas and Paul. While they were not perfect, they surely encourage us, Lord.
