“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits” (Psalm 103:2). “Remember all the way which the LORD thy God led thee” (Deuteronomy 8:2).
She stood before the group as she spoke to the dear ladies of the church. She spoke tenderly of her dear elderly mother who was in the throes of probable Alzheimer’s disease. “Through no fault of her own,” she said, “my dear mom progressed from being a little forgetful to very forgetful to forgetting who I am. You know, ladies, as hard as this is, there is something even more painful to me. As I watch people go through life and intentionally think less and less about the Lord, it’s just as if they have forgotten Him and surely forgotten His blessings. So I want to challenge us that each day we joyfully and intentionally seek to remember all the ways which the Lord has worked in our lives.”
For today: It was a vivid illustration concerning forgetting and remembering. I don’t want to forget His many blessings. Rather, I want to remember the wonderful way He has been leading. How about you?
