Insights from a Glory-Bound Lady”
Volume 5 Number 39 “Well, Karen, You’ve Done It Again!”
September 28th, 2022
Karen was very busy as wife, mother, encourager to the ladies at our churches, and a very busy ladies’ conference speaker. The Lord blessed her life and ministries in very special ways. The Lord Jesus and her love for Him was very precious in her life. She loved to meet with the Lord privately, early in the morning. While family devotions and our worship time together as a couple were special to her, I knew that her private worship with the Lord early in the morning was something she cherished.
I found something special in her personal Bible study journal. She came to Galatians 6:7, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Apparently, she stopped and thought a lot about that principle of sowing and reaping. I’ve shared bits and pieces with you before. Today I want to thank you for allowing me the privilege of sharing something she wrote to herself, in typical brevity, that will encourage each of us as well.
In her journal, she wrote about intentionally sowing that which will result in blessings. Some of her notes are too personal to share; however, here is something that she wrote that I know she won’t mind me sharing. Keeping in mind that she was thinking about being intentional as to what she sowed (Galatians 6:7), she turned to Colossians 1:10-12 for what principles she wanted to sow.
Karen wrote: I want to intentionally sow:
1. In my walk – live worthy (10a)
2. In my work – fruitful living (10b)
3. In my wisdom – learning more (10c)
4. In my warfare – power of the Lord (11)
5. In my worship – thankful to the Lord (12)
Michael’s observation: She wasn’t expecting us to read this someday, and so, of course, these are not written out in complete sentences. However! I know that these are five areas in both men’s and women’s lives where living intentionally and sowing righteously produce great blessings.
I have several times written this little closing remark. Well, Karen, you’ve done it again! You are enjoying Heaven and still encouraging us!
