“Karen’s Notes!
Insights from a Glory-Bound Lady”

Selected Notes
Volume 1 Number 9 “All Things” June 6, 2018

I pulled out a notebook of Karen’s notes from her speaking engagements. I was quite amazed as to how many times she spoke in our sister churches. Although I knew at the time every speaking engagement, seminar, and ladies’ retreat at which she was speaking, it has been a tremendous blessing to read her notes. My dear wife truly believed in the sovereignty of God. This clearly came out in speaking as well as her living even with cancer.

“For by Him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him and for Him: And He is before all things, and by Him all things consist” (Colossians 1:16-17).

Karen wrote: How thankful we can be that the battle is the Lord’s (I John 4:4; 5:5). Do you believe in your heart that God is in control of all things? We probably will not understand why He allows some things to happen; but we must trust Him because of Who He is. There is security in the sovereignty of God.

Michael’s observation: It is a privilege to share her thoughts on Colossians 1:16-17. She underlined these verses and circled “all.” She really believed (and still does!) in the sovereignty of God. She didn’t enjoy cancer. But I can tell you that she rested fully in the knowledge that “all things” were fully under His control. It is a good reminder for me.
