“He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not” (John 1:10).
Two preachers were talking over coffee one day and having quite a laugh together. Let’s break into their conversation and laugh with them. “I couldn’t believe it!” Pastor Mike said. “I thought they were fooling at first. She actually said to me, ‘Well, we have a guest speaker today. I don’t know him,’ and then turning to her friend she said with a sarcastic voice, ‘I hope he isn’t boring.’” Lots of laughter took place at this point. Pastor Steve nearly choked on his coffee as he responded, “You mean she really didn’t recognize that you were the guest speaker that day? You actually stood in her presence and she didn’t recognize you?” he asked in disbelief. Now let’s leave the preachers. It really didn’t matter much whether that lady recognized the speaker or not. There was One far greater, however, Who came to this world and wasn’t recognized nor is He still recognized. He even created the world, but the world “knew Him not.” We are living on a mission field. An open, hostile, intentional rejection is deepening in our land. We need to be intentional in our witness and different in our lifestyle because His world still doesn’t know Him.
For today: May our lives and testimony reflect the fact that we know Him!
