“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not” (Jeremiah 33:3).
I realize this is an Old Testament call from the Lord to His people, Judah, who thought they would indeed be in Babylonian captivity forever because of their sin and rejection of Him. On the basis of His covenant with David, He would not abandon nor forsake them. He still had a plan for them. They would return from captivity. They could call unto Him and He would answer! Now let’s bring this wonderful promise to us today. For those of us who have placed our trust in the Lord Jesus to be our Savior, a wonderful blessing results when in any and every situation we hear the Father say to us, “Call unto me, and I will answer you…” The Lord indeed answers. Sometimes it is with a yes. Then there are other times when our Father answers with a no. And of course, there will be times when the answer comes in a form of wait. What is your situation today? Have you called unto the Lord? He’s going to answer. He really will.
For today: I need to be as willing and thankful to the Lord when He doesn’t answer the way I want as when He does. How does this impact your life today?
