“For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish” (Psalm 1:6).
Luke and Charlotte had a sweet little grandmother who would hug them and tell them often, “I love you. Please remember to love the Lord and choose your friends carefully.” One day many years after their grandmother went Home to be with the Lord, they were celebrating someone’s birthday, and the memory of their grandmother came up in the conversation. “Love the Lord,” Charlotte said. “And choose your friends carefully,” Luke completed the sentence. “You know, Luke, Grandmother had a lot of wisdom,” Charlotte said. “I believe we both can see where her encouragements were just what we needed. Love the Lord and choose your friends carefully are words that weren’t just good for us as teenagers, they’re still good for us and for our families today. She knew that the way of the ungodly leads to perishing. But the way of the righteous is known and blessed by the Lord,” Charlotte concluded.
For today: How will “Love the Lord and choose your friends carefully” impact your life today?
