“For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed” (Malachi 3:6).
Everything seemed to be changing all around her. A new boss with many “new” and very impractical ideas that he ordered to be implemented immediately made her difficult job almost impossible. Her best friend had moved to another state. Her health had started to change. A family member had died. Her pastor had announced his resignation. All this occurred within a few months’ time. It was a precious moment in her Bible reading that morning when Gloria came to Malachi 3:6. She stopped, took off her glasses, and closed her eyes. “Lord,” she softly said, “everything is changing round about me, and to be honest, I don’t like it. But I do love, Lord, that You never change. Since You don’t change, You and I will handle all these other changes indeed.”
For today: I hope that you will rejoice in the changelessness of the Lord. His immutability is marvelous, especially when everything seems to be changing around us.
