“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6).
Tim and Louanne dreamed about what life would be with their little boy, Anthony. Tim was an avid hunter and sportsman. There was nothing better to him than to be in his tree stand on opening day of hunting. He excelled in about every sport and knew all the stats of his favorite players. He was a rugged man who deeply loved the Lord and his family. As for Anthony, guess what? He didn’t enjoy being around guns. He didn’t like the hunt. He wasn’t good at sports. He loved playing several musical instruments. What a wise man Anthony’s dad was. Tim loved his boy and always assured him that he was so proud of him. He never missed one of Tony’s concerts. You see, Tim came to understand that every child needs to be trained in the way he should go. While there is the way in which every child should go (God’s way), there is an individual way as well.
For today: Does your child know that you are supportive of however the Lord has made him or her?
