“Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God: For he took away the altars of the strange gods… and commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment” (2 Chronicles 14:2-4).
There are so many good lessons from the life of Asa, the King of Judah. He came from a difficult family life. His father was a wicked man. So if Asa had walked in the ways of his father, he too would have been a wicked man. But of Asa the Word of God declares that he “did that which was good and right in the eyes of the LORD his God.” There is great news! Regardless of your past, right now, right where you are, you can turn to the Lord and make a fresh beginning. Everything can become new. Don’t blame your past. Be like Asa today.
For today: Lord, I am thankful for new beginnings. How great is Your grace and mercy. Thank You!
