“To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever. Amen” (Romans 16:27).
Paul concludes his tremendous letter with such a powerful benediction. He declares that in the wisdom of God, glory through Jesus Christ would result forever and ever. Our view of eternity is so very limited. We believe what the Word of God declares to us, but we are limited in what we understand and comprehend right now. Marty and his wife Candice tried to describe to their five-year-old daughter what it would be like to fly on the airplane on their vacation. She believed her daddy, but it wasn’t until they were in the air that she screamed, “Daddy, daddy! It’s better than I knew!” Those traveling nearby smiled at the beautiful little curly-haired girl. One of those passengers was Mike, who whispered to the Lord, “Father, I suspect that someday I am going to be saying and shouting the same thing. It’s better than I knew!” Yes, friends, the Father is being glorified today, but just wait until His glory is fully revealed! This should bless our lives today and encourage us.
For today: May we have the privilege of living in such a way that the Father will be glorified today!
