“For the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein” (Hosea 14:9).
Yesterday we began to think about the perplexity of life’s situations. We view things from our very limited perspective, and sometimes we are confused about what the Lord has allowed to come into our lives. Sometimes the Lord’s leading is very clear and we readily can understand what He is doing. On the other hand, sometimes His ways are confusing to us. Certainly that confusion must have been true of King David. As a young shepherd boy he was minding his business as he cared for the sheep. Then Samuel summoned him. Anointing him in the midst of his brothers, David’s life was never the same. He became the royal musician, amour bearer (1 Samuel 16), giant slayer (1 Samuel 17), national treasure (1 Samuel 18), and yet ended up running for his life and hiding in two separate caves as Saul was in hot pursuit (1 Samuel 22, 24). Life must have been terrifying and confusing for him at times. Listen to what David said. He reminded himself, “When my spirit was overwhelmed within me then You knew my path” (Psalm 142:3). Not only did the Lord know all about the direction and situations of David’s life, wait until you see what he says tomorrow.
For today: Have you come to the place where you have discovered the great blessing of remembering that God knows your path?
