“He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And He hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD” (Psalm 40:2-3).
He told me, “I was the most miserable person in the entire world. I was foul-mouthed. I was drunk a good bit of the time. I lived immorally and nearly lost my wife and family. I was wretched.” Joe continued, telling me, “Then the Lord saved me. I heard the gospel of what the Lord Jesus did on my behalf. I believed His Word. I have a lot to learn, but I am a new person.” He beamed with joy. David likewise had a situation that he describes as going from the pits to standing on the Rock which results in the new song on his lips. May this be true of us today. May the change that the Lord Jesus makes in our lives be evident.
For today: May the attitude of gratitude be the source of a great testimony for our Savior.
