“For sin shall not have dominion over you: for you are not under the law, but under grace” (Romans 6:14).
It was a glorious lesson that Les discovered in the men’s Bible study fellowship. As he listened to men who were a little farther along on the walk with the Lord, he was quite amazed at the past lifestyles they had lived and how greatly their lives had changed as they obeyed the Word of God and relied upon the Lord. It must have been a divine appointment as Keith was sharing his own experience based upon our text for today. “I am so thankful for the way that the Lord has worked in my life. Why, Les,” (and he turned and looked at Les who sat on his left at the table), “there was a time that when I sinned and then felt so miserable because of it, I would shrug it off as not being my own fault. Then I learned that I don’t have to say ‘yes’ to sin and give in to its power. God’s grace and the power He gives us is amazing as we obey His Word and trust Him.” Les felt like this was just the message he needed to hear that day. How about you?
For today: It is wonderful to know that sin is no longer our master. We have a new Master indeed!
