“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call His name JESUS: for He shall save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).
“That’s a Christmas verse,” you might be thinking. You’re right, but why should we limit this glorious truth to simply a few days around December 25th? Think of the incredible truth of this verse. Think of the ARRANGEMENTS (she shall bring forth a Son.) To redeem His people, the Son of God would become a man and be born of the virgin Mary. What a huge miracle is this thing called the incarnation. Think of the ASSIGNMENT (you shall call His name Jesus.) Joseph was not the father; however, to him was granted the awesome privilege of functioning as the guardian of the Lord Jesus. The angel selected the name that was assigned. Think of the ACCOMPLISHMENT (He shall save His people from their sins.) I am so glad that He is my Savior. I want to celebrate Him. This truth is too glorious to keep until December 25th.
For today: I belong to the Lord Most Glorious. How awesome He is in every way.
