“And what is the exceeding greatness of His power to usward who believe, according to the working of His mighty power, which He wrought in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead, and set Him at His Own right hand in the Heavenly places” (Ephesians 1:19-20).
It’s Sunday! It’s time to collectively worship and celebrate the resurrection of the Lord Jesus from the dead. Imagine the grief and sorrow among the disciples on that Saturday night long ago. Then Sunday morning comes and everything changes! Christ arose! Six-year-old Maria always was the kind of little gal that spoke what was on her mind. Every once in a while her parents gasped at her “way with words.” Such was the case on a warm Sunday morning as Maria went outside to wait for her parents. Together they would go to church and Sunday school. As Maria walked outside, she spotted her neighbors who had a driveway full of cars and lots of company in the front yard. Walking over she said, “Hi, everyone. ‘Cuse me. ‘Cuse me!” Everyone stopped talking and looked around at the beautiful little girl from next door. As they turned, she simply said to them, “Jesus rose on Sunday morning long time ago. We’re going to worship Him. Pagans don’t worship Him on Sunday. Are you people pagans?” Just then her parents stepped out, and little Miss Maria bounded back home. As they drove away, mom said, “Why are they staring at us as we are leaving? What have you said this time, Maria Gracie?” All I can say is that we are going to church today to worship the One Who rose on Sunday! How about you?
For today: Christ the Lord is risen and reigns forever. HALLELUJAH! AMEN!
