“But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord” (2 Corinthians 10:17).
A long time ago I stood at the door of the auditorium greeting the congregation on their way home after Sunday morning services. A man who was a first time visitor to the church and unknown to me presented himself, introduced his many talents to me, told me how he could help the church to become much better than it is, and that he had set up a table in our foyer to sell his books to help people improve. I listened with a combination of amusement and bewilderment. He was arrogant and rude. One of the dear members whispered to me (as this man was leaving with his books unpacked!), “I have never met a man so full of himself.” The Apostle Paul had the right focus in his life. He announced that if anyone was going to start boasting around here, it would be boasting about the Lord! Come to think of it, that sounds like a good goal for us.
For today: Lord, it is not about us. It is all about you. May Christ be glorified in our lives today.
