I love living in the northern part of the state of Ohio. We are very near the beautiful Lake Erie which as you know can make weather predictions somewhat challenging. What a wonderful place to live. Here in northern Ohio, we enjoy four seasons. Do you know what they are?
1. Winter
2. Orange barrels and road construction
3. Orange barrels and more road construction
4. Orange barrels and hurried road construction as this season comes to an end
I hope you are at least smiling at my feeble attempt at humor.
Seriously, I know that with the wide variety of temperatures of heat and freezing, our roads do take quite a beating. I’m grateful for the crews that work hard to clear snow and repair our roads. I am very grateful however that there is a road that never needs repaving or repairing. Think of what the Lord Jesus said.
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it (Matthew 7:13-14).
There are two roads that never change. The wide road with many people who have not placed their trust in the Lord Jesus and accepted His gift of salvation. The narrow road with fewer on it (those redeemed who belong to the Lord) is a wonderful road indeed. All I know is that as a young child, after hearing the plan of salvation clearly explained to me in an after-school Bible Club, I knelt by my bed and asked the Lord Jesus to be my Savior. I’ve been on that narrow road that never needs to be repaired ever since.
Wonderful, wonderful Savior is Christ Jesus my Lord. He is the greatest gift of all.
