# 294 “Excuse Me! It’s Just My Morning Voice!”
December 13th, 2023
A smile for you. I recently spoke with someone who said, “Excuse the way I sound. It is my morning voice.” I smiled because I certainly could identify with what he was saying. At times we all suffer from “morning voice!” A few little coughs, some warm tea or coffee, and within a few minutes, our normal voice seems to return.
From one of her ladies’ retreats. In one of Karen’s ladies’ retreats, she shared the importance of the time that we invest speaking to the Lord, even in the morning!
“My voice shalt Thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto Thee and will look up” (Psalm 5:3).
This verse became the focus of the theme for the conference. She challenged the ladies to talk with the Lord throughout the day, especially the morning. Here is a tiny bit of one paragraph from her conference worksheet.
Karen wrote: What is your view of God? Is there an awesome reverence? Do you at times kneel before Him realizing your own unworthiness? As you “look up” (Psalm 5:3) to the Lord in the morning, do so with expectancy. Establish a daily time with the Lord and be sure to spend time in His Word. Don’t forget to take time to “Be still” in His presence and praise Him.
Guys, this is good for us as well. Coming before the Lord, looking to Him, praying to Him throughout the day, but especially the morning, is good for not only ladies. It is important for men as well. I think the main thing that Satan, our enemy, uses to keep us from this time with the Lord is a schedule that we have packed too full which makes us “too busy.” I am challenged by this little paragraph Karen wrote about “our morning voice.” How about you?
