“Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said…Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding” (Job 38:1-4).
Throughout the suffering of Job, God seemed very quiet. Job’s friends misdiagnosed the situation and gave faulty counsel, adding to Job’s misery. Then God’s silence was broken. In God’s own appointed time He thundered from the whirlwind. How absolutely awesome is this!
He challenged Job with a series of questions, some relating to creation. He asked, “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the world?” Friends, that really puts things into perspective. I may not fully understand what the Lord is doing. I may not have chosen this had I been given the choice; however, I will be wise not to question His handling of the affairs of my life. When I start to question things, I need to stop and ask myself this question, “Just where were you, Michael, when the Lord laid the foundations?” Yes, it truly does bring things into perspective.
Please take this with you today: Can you say with me, “I’m glad the Lord understands me and loves me. I want to trust Him more and more!”
